Terms & Conditions
The basic terms for using the My Local Tradesman website and referral service.
1. About My Local Tradesman
My Local Tradesman is an independent homeowner referral website. We help users start a request for quotes from tradespeople. We do not employ the tradespeople introduced through the service and we are not the contractor carrying out the work.
2. Quote requests and referral partners
Quote requests may be collected through a form on My Local Tradesman or through an embedded third-party form. Where our own form is used, the information you submit is transmitted securely to a third-party referral partner, including MyJobQuote, so that the request can be processed and matched with suitable tradespeople. The partner also applies its own homeowner terms and privacy policy to that processing.
My Local Tradesman may receive a commission when a referral results in qualifying activity.
3. No obligation to hire
Submitting a request does not oblige you to accept a quote or hire a tradesperson. You are responsible for deciding whether a tradesperson is suitable for your job.
4. Tradespeople and work
Any agreement for building, repair, maintenance or other trade work is between you and the tradesperson you choose. Before hiring, make your own checks concerning experience, qualifications, insurance, price, timescale and any registrations relevant to the work.
5. Website information
We aim to keep the website clear and accurate, but service descriptions, availability and third-party information may change.
6. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. Subject to that, My Local Tradesman is not responsible for the quality, safety, timing, pricing or outcome of work performed by an independent tradesperson.
7. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the website, submit deliberately false or unlawful information, interfere with the website or its forms, or infringe another person's rights.
8. Changes
We may update these terms when the website, referral arrangements or applicable requirements change.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the United Kingdom, subject to mandatory consumer rights.
